Controller Test
Every button, both triggers, and a proper measurement of stick drift — the fault that makes your character wander off on their own. Plug the controller in or pair it over Bluetooth, then press any button to wake it up.
Press any button on the controller
Browsers keep controllers hidden until you press something — that's a privacy feature, not a fault. Nothing will show here until you do.
This browser doesn't support game controllers at all. Chrome, Edge and Firefox all do — Safari is the usual culprit.
Stick drift
Take your thumbs right off both sticks, rest the controller on the desk, then press the button. It watches for two seconds and reports the worst reading it saw.

Hands off the sticks first.
Analogue triggers
Squeeze each one slowly all the way in. The bar should climb smoothly from 0 to 1 and come straight back down — a bar that jumps, sticks part-way, or won't reach 1.00 is a worn trigger.

Every button
Work around the pad. Each one turns orange while it's held and stays green once it has worked at least once, so you can go through the lot and see what never lit up.

Vibration
Both motors, one second. If one side is silent the rumble motor has gone — which is a common, cheap fix and not a reason to replace the whole controller.
